Dayton City Commissioner Matt Joseph will be having a fundraiser for his re-election campaign next Thursday, March 10th at Coco’s Bistro.  It will be from 5-7pm and the cost is $125/person.

Don’t forget to buy your tickets for Frolic for Funds, which will be held on March 31st this year! It will be held at the Dayton Convention Center and will be from 6-9pm. Tickets are $125. We just found out that Associate Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court Yvette McGee Brown will be in attendance. If you have any questions about purchasing tickets, please call Gen at 222-4007.

There will be no party meeting in March due to Frolic. Don’t forget there will be a canvass and phone bank at AFSCME HQ tomorrow at 1:30pm in opposition to Senate Bill 5.

Legacy Dinner March 19th

The Ohio Democratic Party will be holding a Legacy Dinner to honor Governor Ted Strickland on March 19th in Columbus. MCDP has a table reserved. If you are interested in attending and sitting at our table, tickets are $75. Please email me to reserve a seat at our table! Again, this dinner will honor Ted Strickland, and Senator Sherrod Brown will be there as well!

Here's a flyer for the event!

Canvass against SB 5 on Saturday

There will be a canvass (weather permitting) and phone bank targeting Senate Bill 5 on Saturday. Even though this bill cleared the State Senate yesterday, it must be approved by the house at this point. During this canvass, you’ll ask constituents to call their legislators and ask them to oppose SB 5. If you are interested in participating, meet at AFSCME HQ this Saturday at 1:30pm. AFSCME is located at 15 Gates St in the Oregon District.

If you have never canvassed or phone banked before, do not worry you will get training. It is fun and easy!
